Purchasing Department Vacancy

We have an opportunity in our busy our purchasing department.

The role is initially to cover maternity leave from the beginning of January 2008 through till January 2009 however due to the rapid expansion of both companies the role is likely to become a permanent position for the right candidate.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and business smart candidate who can think on their feet.

An ability to learn quickly in a fast paced environment is a must. Experience would be preferable however for the right candidate not essential.

Most of the job would be based in our head office in Peterborough but a willingness to travel would also be an important factor. Many of our suppliers are based in countries abroad as well as in the UK. In certain circumstances the candidate may be required to travel either with the Purchasing Manager or unaccompanied to numerous destinations. This could be in the form of visiting exhibitions or meeting with current or prospective suppliers.

The initial role will be to take care of the day to day running of Bodyguards Industrial procurement needs. The role covers a wide spectrum, from keying purchasing orders and seeing them through to fulfillment to forecasting and scheduling, as well as being part of negotiations on a senior level.

The job primarily means dealing with overseas supplies but some UK purchasing would be required.

Following a successful time with Bodyguards Industrial the group would then look to incorporate Medisavers purchasing duties within that role. The successful candidate must be able to multi task and organize the workload strategically and efficiently.

Salaries are negotiable and dependant on experience.
